DUVETS
A
duvet is a type of blanket that is used as bedding. The term usually refers to a sort of bag that is filled with
down or some other kind of insulator. It is then used as a blanket on a bed.
A
duvet is a very popular type of blanket, especially in colder climates. This
is mostly due to the fact that it is filled with an insulator, which makes it good for keeping in the natural
heat that is put out by the body.
Duvets
first became popular in Europe, especially in the middle 1700s. In fact, this is still one of the most common
types of bedding found in Europe to this day. However, black and white duvets have long since
become popular around the rest of the world as well.
Nowadays,
you will hardly find a major retailer that does not sell duvets in some form or fashion. They can come in very
simple designs, or in very decorative, extravagant patterns.
Also,
some are thicker than others. You will find that some duvets are more suitable to the winter time than the
summertime, mostly due to their thickness and the amount of insulator in them.
Some
people mistake a comforter cover for a duvet nowadays, though the two are very different. Usually, a comforter
cover just goes over a duvet, as the duvet is what actually serves to keep you warm.
